Recap of 2/26
February 28, 2008
The forecast for the 26th, as you can see below, was for rain all day. From my observation, it wasn’t a heavy rain all day. It would rain off and on and mist throughout the day, but the heavy rain didn’t start until the evening.
It’s cold in Philadelphia
February 28, 2008
And I love it. Not actually walking in it, but I feel like we need cold days in winter, and we just haven’t had enough of them this year.
Currently, it is 20 degree F outside, according to KYW.
Accuweather also reports 20 degrees with a wind chill of -2.
weather.com reports 21 degrees with a real feel of 6.

Current Conditions

9:00 am
Cloudy, cold (I haven’t set up my outdoor thermometer yet to get exact readings)
Feb. 23, 2008
February 23, 2008
Special warning for Philadelphia and surrounding areas from the National Weather Service:
301 AM EST SAT FEB 23 2008
SOME ROADS MAY BE ICY AND HAZARDOUS EARLY THIS MORNING…ESPECIALLY
ON UNTREATED SURFACES. TEMPERATURES HAVE DROPPED BELOW FREEZING
IN MANY AREAS, AND THIS COULD CAUSE FREEZING OF ANY SNOW THAT
MELTED. BLACK ICE IS POSSIBLE.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU ARE DRIVING IN THE EVENT THAT YOU MAY
ENCOUNTER ICY CONDITIONS.
Long term forecast:
.LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/…
HIGH PRESSURE WILL PROVIDE FAIR WEATHER SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY
NIGHT. MOISTURE RUNNING AHEAD OF LOW PRESSURE MOVING IN FROM THE
WEST WILL CAUSE INCREASING CLOUDINESS MONDAY NIGHT WITH THE CHANCE
FOR SNOW SHOWERS NORTH AND RAIN OR SNOW SHOWERS SOUTH. THE LOW IS
EXPECTED TO TRACK NORTHEAST INTO NEW YORK STATE TUESDAY. THIS WILL
ALLOW MILD AIR TO OVERSPREAD THE FORECAST AREA AND BRING RAIN TO
MOST AREAS TUESDAY. THE RAIN MAY BE MIXED WITH SNOW NORTH,
ESPECIALLY EARLY IN THE DAY. THE COLD FRONT ASSOCIATED WITH THE
LOW WILL CROSS THE AREA LATE TUESDAY. THIS WILL BRING COLDER AIR
BACK INTO THE REGION ALLOWING THE PRECIPITATION TO CHANGE BACK
OVER TO SNOW IN MOST AREAS BEFORE ENDING WEDNESDAY MORNING. AS
HIGH PRESSURE PUSHES IN FROM THE WEST AND THE LOW EXISTS TO THE
NORTHEAST, A COLD NORTHWEST FLOW WILL SET IN AND BRING A RETURN TO
FAIR AND COLD WEATHER WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY.
